Access and manage icons for just about any app
If there's one thing we deal with a lot of at Softonic it's icons. And if there's one platform that does the icon business the best it's Mac OS X.
IconBurglar is a tool that allows you to extract icons from just about anything installed on your Mac. This includes not only the Dock icon but also any other icons related to it, such as images and sounds. If you find something you like, you can simply export it with a single mouse click. Be careful though, because many icons are copyrighted by the developers so you can't just steal them at will!
Don't worry about damaging the original icon if you want to modify or resize it because IconBurglar doesn't touch the original. IconBurglar is ideal for adding transparency effects because it can save .ICNS files, PNGs, TIFFs and JPEGs in any available resolution. When you initially start AppBurglar it performs a thorough scan of your system and although icons appear in real time, it does take a while. IconBurglar was still scanning my system five minutes after starting, which does seem an excessively long for a small app like this.
For designers or icon addicts, IcinBurglar is a very handy tool for discovering all the icons on your Mac and giving you the inspiration for your own.
